Closet Purge & Closet Organization

personal stylist san diego, closet organization

Before I begin any service with a client, I sit down with you for a Consultation to discuss the look you want. I ask a series of questions and have you browse through a carefully constructed fashion lookbook.

Once I understand your goals, I will help you eliminate ill-fitting and outdated garments in your wardrobe that do not go with your desired appearance, and identify the clothing that still works.

I am also available to organize your clothes, shoes and accessories so that everything is orderly and accessible to you.

Lastly, if you are too busy or do not want to be bothered with getting rid of your unwanted clothing, I can transport everything to a reputable charity.

FAQ About Closet Management

The closet purge generally takes 2 hours, although I have had a closet purge that lasted as little as 20-minutes and as long as 6 hours. It all depends on how much clothing you have. Yes, you will be trying on most things.

I cannot emphasize enough that you really don’t need to do anything at all before the closet purge. I can show up and do my job no matter what situation your closet and wardrobe is in, but if you really want to prepare, here are a few things you can do:

1. Have all your clothing available. This means make sure you have all your clothing back from the Dry Cleaner and your hamper for dirty clothes isn’t full of garments we might want to work with during our session.

2. Have all your clothing, shoes and accessories in one room. Again, this is not a big deal at all, but it does make the closet purge more efficient.

3. Having your wardrobe somewhat organized is alway helpful, but again, not necessary.

4. We often dip into the far reaches of your wardrobe where dust lies. Since most people are allergic to dust, any sort of dusting before we dive in there can be nice.

After the consultation, I charge by the hour with a minimum of two. Once I quote you an hourly rate, it is safe from inflation for one year. You prepay for the first two hours. Once the two hours are completed, you pay me at the end of each session, unless otherwise discussed. I accept cash, check, and credit cards.
